Spiritual Rest

Spiritual Rest.

I’ve been reading on this and these words have been stuck in my head for a week now. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.

Jesus invites us to come. We can come lay down at his feet and rest.

Spiritual rest is not a nap though. Spiritual rest is being revived by our Savior that joyfully welcomes us today. He wants us to wait on Him.

Spiritual rest is those that are heavy laden too! Those that are carrying a heavy burden. He is asking us to let Him have those burdens to lay them down at his feet! Wow.

Spiritual rest is letting go of what is not ours to carry so we can be more effective at what He’s called us to do.

We must quiet ourselves and get ourselves out of the way to truly find rest in Jesus. The more I read on this and the more I read in Matthew the more I have realized Jesus always broke away from the crowd to spend time with His father!!

So powerful when we think about Spiritual Rest and to think about Jesus moving toward a place of quiet rest to talk just to God while he walked this earth. I fail daily at this. But, I pray to be able to understand better not just how to slow down and rest from exercise during the week, but to more importantly find Spiritual rest.

XO.
